Introducing 'Quest' - a new sci-fi and fantasy magazine
Read ‘Quest’
A few months ago, I saw on Instagram an intriguing call for speculative fiction stories about ‘Thresholds’.
I thought: I have a speculative fiction story about ‘thresholds’.
I submitted my story.
I then told my friend - and co-author of this substack James Vinson - to also submit to the call a story about thresholds.
He did.
Today is the debut of ‘Quest’ - a new literary magazine that uses science fiction and fantasy to critique culture, politics, and society. Their first issue (theme: Thresholds) features both mine and James’ stories. We are very lucky and grateful to be picked up for the same edition, in this exciting new literary project.
Our stories are from the xtended anthology that inspired this substack.
‘ThrillMate’ is a story about the lengths people go to, to find connection.
‘Natural Relations’ is about a journey to re-connect with the non-human world.
Quest is free to read - and every story is accompanied by original artworks.

Congratulations to all the contributors to this first issue and the very-well-organised team who made it happen.
Let’s read!
If you’re an author and interested in submitting to future issues of Quest Magazine, you can follow them online for updates.
